What is Collective Bargaining?

Together We Bargain, Divided We Beg

What is Collective Bargaining?

As a group, we select representatives to bargain on behalf of all members of the union.

This process creates an ongoing and exclusive relationship between an employer and a union in which a written contract is negotiated, implemented, and enforced with regards to the wages, hours, terms and employment and conditions of work for employees represented by the union.

We, as the union, have more power to secure benefits for those covered by the contract than any individual could have on their own. However, the contract can only be as strong as the support of active union members behind it.
