Collective Bargaining Discussions

An article was just posted in the ADN about the Alaska Graduate Workers Association demonstrating due to not reaching a contract agreement with the University (State). They tried to strike, but were stopped for now by the court since they haven't gone through all the necessary steps yet. https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/education/2024/04/30/university-of-alaska-student-workers-union-members-protest-for-contract-after-judge-bars-strike/

Sounds like the other two unions negotiating contracts along with us have essentially reached an impasse as well.

This is the time to stick to our guns and not give in. We have more power with all of these other groups holding out than we would have on our own. Not only do their situations help support what we are asking, but if we back down, it will make it harder on them to argue their case. We need to stick together and support each other.
